About Arranmore Island

Arranmore Island lies 5km off the Donegal coast and is reached by ferry from Burtonport — 25 minutes to some of the best diving in Ulster. The island's coastline runs to sea caves, tunnels and kelp-forest walls between 5–30m, populated by large lobster, resident basking sharks in summer and grey seals throughout the year. The north and west coasts are Atlantic-exposed, delivering superb visibility (often 15m+) on calm days; the sheltered east bays provide reliable conditions when swell builds. Arranmore is underrated and undervisited.
