Dun Laoghaire Pier is a night diver's secret: after dark the granite blocks and pilings reveal rare long-snouted seahorses, nudibranch colonies and shrimps invisible by day. At 3–10m it's a safe and shallow dive that rewards slow, macro-focused exploration. Day dives bring their own rewards — tompot blennies, velvet swimming crabs and the occasional curious seal — and the pier offers easy in-water access year-round from the harbour.
