Diving in Leinster
Leinster offers some of Ireland's most accessible diving, from the sheltered waters of Dún Laoghaire and Killiney Bay on the south Dublin coast to the dramatic wrecks and marine life around Dalkey Island and the Saltee Islands in Wexford. The Irish Sea brings reliable if variable conditions — easterly winds can kick up short-period chop, but settled high-pressure windows deliver excellent visibility in the 5–10m range. Depth ranges from shallow rocky reefs around 10m to wall dives past 30m at Hook Head. A strong community of PADI and SAA clubs operates out of Dublin, making Leinster the busiest diving region in Ireland.
