Diving in Wales
Wales punches well above its size for diving. Pembrokeshire's coastline — Skomer Island, St Bride's Bay, The Smalls — offers some of the UK's richest marine life in a protected national park. Skomer is home to one of Britain's largest Atlantic grey seal populations and hosts stunning underwater landscapes of kelp, sponge gardens and schooling fish. Anglesey on the north Wales coast provides calmer conditions in its sheltered bays with good wreck diving in the Menai Strait. Visibility in west-facing Pembrokeshire regularly reaches 10–15m in summer, though the strong tides around headlands and islands demand careful planning.
