Diving in Isle of Man
The Isle of Man sits at the intersection of the Irish Sea's major tidal flows, creating conditions that range from glass-calm sheltered bays to exposed headlands with strong currents and epic marine life. The Calf of Man — the small island off the southern tip — has some of the best diving: vertical walls draped in jewel anemones, nudibranchs and plentiful lobster. Visibility commonly reaches 10m+, significantly better than most Irish Sea sites thanks to the island's position away from river run-off. The island is underrated by mainland UK divers, which means less boat traffic and more undisturbed marine life on the sheltered east coast reefs.
