The Saltee Islands lie 5km off the Wexford coast and host one of Ireland's largest grey seal colonies — you'll be accompanied underwater from the moment you descend. The sea arches, cliffs and kelp-draped boulders at 8–30m form a dramatic backdrop for encounters with sunfish in summer, huge resident lobsters and passing pelagics. Tidal planning is essential at the exposed headlands, but the sheltered east sides offer gentler conditions when the wind is in the west.
