About Sound of Mull

The Sound of Mull is a sheltered channel between the Isle of Mull and the Scottish mainland that contains some of Scotland's most rewarding diving — wrecks, pinnacles and tidal walls at 12–40m with reliable visibility and rich life. The SS Thesis, a 1889 cargo steamer at 24m near Lochaline, is an accessible and spectacular wreck; other sites add deep-water pinnacles patrolled by large pollock and ling, walls in sea fans and nudibranch meadows on the tidal scour points. Current-wise diving is required on many sites — time your entry.
