About Weymouth and Portland

Weymouth and Portland Bill sit on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, where post-war dumping of aircraft, vehicles and munitions created some of England's most unusual and accessible wreck diving at 15–40m. Portland Race — the turbulent tidal overfalls at the Bill's tip — generates strong currents that funnel fish populations and produce spectacular drift dives. The quarried limestone seabed and man-made reef structures around the harbour are productive macro sites, and the area hosted the 2012 Olympic sailing events in flat, clear water.
