Baltimore is the dive hub of west Cork — a sheltered harbour in Roaringwater Bay that gives access to dozens of sites within a short boat ride: Sherkin Island reefs, the Catalogna wreck, the kelp gardens of Long Island Bay and the dramatic pinnacles off the Mizen. The town itself has dive charter operators, a compression station and equipment hire. Conditions in the bay are typically good when Atlantic swells keep exposed sites off-limits, making Baltimore a reliable all-weather destination from spring through autumn.
