About Isles of Scilly
The Isles of Scilly sit 45km southwest of Land's End and benefit from the North Atlantic Drift, which keeps water temperatures a degree or two above the mainland coast and supports Gulf Stream species rarely seen elsewhere in England. Visibility routinely reaches 10–20m — exceptional by English standards. The islands are surrounded by shallow reefs, offshore pinnacles and dozens of historic wrecks (the archipelago has claimed vessels since Roman times) at 6–50m depth, with grey seals resident on most dive sites and sunfish common in summer.
